The Genetics and Genomics Analysis Platform (G&GAP) is a research facility providing Next Generation Sequencing data generation and analysis for investigators interested in exploring genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and metagenomics.

Produce raw data...

Perform your whole experiment from library preparation to sequencing on either Ion Torrent or Illumina MiSeq instruments. DNA microarray platforms are also available. Large NGS projects are managed through Macrogen service provider (sequence production is rapid - about 1,5 month - and data are analyzed in house).

Supported by CINECA and the Big & Open Data Innovation Laboratory of the University of Brescia, we can process and store data for small/medium-scale projects. The Platform offers support in study design and data analysis to achieve effective and interpretable results. Additional services include the use of large genomic datasets available from public repository to support or integrate your data.

G&GAP operates on a cost recovery basis for UniBS and Spedali Civili di Brescia users
Co-authorship is commonly expected for large scale projects or when Platform personnel have made meaningful contributions to the study in terms of consultation, experimental design, method development or data analysis and interpretation.


The Genetics and Genomics Analysis Platform is part of the AgroFood Laboratory, coordinated by Dr. Gianni Gilioli and is located building A of the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine (DMMT) of the University of Brescia. It’s funded as part of the Fondazione Cariplo project “La salute della persona: lo sviluppo e la valorizzazione della conoscenza per la prevenzione, la diagnosi precoce e le terapie personalizzate” under the direction of Prof. Maurizio Memo
